Chivalry 2, the continuation of the classic worship medieval combat simulation, will offer a crossed game to those who are both on the current generation and the next generation of consoles. This means that the Xbox Series X players will be able to fight against Playstation 5 users as well as on PC. It s a huge step for the series because the original Chivalry was a bit a game underground. Let s hope that the addition of the crossed game will give it the attention it deserves.
There is no clear launch date for Chivalry 2. Developers reported that it will come out this year, but there are no details yet. Since it will be playable on Xbox Series X and PS5, it would not be unreasonable to assume that fans will see the long-awaited sequel closer to the end of 2020.
The first chivalry offered an excellent immersive combat system strongly based on skills. Although it is very difficult to seize it (especially when fighting more experienced players), it was one of the most satisfying things to master once you have crossed the learning curve . Many of the most hardcore members of the fans base fear that niche gameplay mechanisms are sweeten or outright removed to appease a more relaxed audience. Something that is not necessarily unfounded.
Chivalry 2 will have to do everything possible to find its relevance. Since Chivalry has launched for the first time in 2012 another game, Mordhau took his place as undisputed king of the genre. The two titles are very similar, so it will be a difficult decision for fans to choose between the time coming.
